Creating traditional Mexican cooking sauces, using the ancient metate, molcajete and comal, was a lengthy labor of love that modern life made very difficult to accommodate. In addition, for those of us who had left the frontera for other parts of the country, it was often frustrating, trying to find the ingredients to prepare the essential sauces. So we set out to find an authentic way to replicate Abuelita's sauces in a form that makes home cooking healthy, exciting and convenient.

We formed Viva Abuelita LLC, a business that is owned and operated by our family. It is our commitment to provide premium-quality, all natural "Traditional Mexican Cooking Sauces for the Contemporary Cook™." Sauces savory enough to serve proudly to our own family and to share with others who wish to nurture themselves and those they love with this earthy, yet spirited food.
